50 years of marriage! Mary-Lou Pressel and others
worked quite hard to plan a surprise party to celebrate Frank and Lillian
Bowser's 50th anniversary. People came from all over but were cautioned
to NOT let Frank and Lillian in on the plans for July 14, 2002.
When the day came, Frank and Lillian were planning to drive
north to Michigan to visit other family members. But instead they were
taken to church, then driven around for 2 hours. First they were told they
were going to lunch at a fancy restaurant. Next they were told "Well,
Mary-Lou wasn't in church...maybe we should see if she wants to come
too." In one frantic phone call, Lillian told Mary-Lou she thought
they were lost. When the car finally pulled onto Patrick street the
surprise was complete!
