Fall colors are few and far between in Houston, and hard
to find across most of Texas. We'd been talking about a New England Autumn
trip for many years and finally decided to go for it. Our timing was a bit
off...too early in some places and too late in others. But there were
certainly pockets of brilliant colors we'd not seen since visiting the Smoky
Mountains in October many years ago.
What we did see, however was lots of covered bridges and
lighthouses. We also visited two state capitols, and the Henry
Wadsworth-Longfellow home in Portland, Maine.
